The Public Board / Re: Privacy Policy

Updated the privacy policy as I am no longer using Google Analytics or any 3rd-party analytics/tracking since the forum v2 update. Since none of the current or former registered users are covered by GDPR, I guess I'm not going to worry about that for this site.

The Public Board / Board Update / Migration
« Last post by BigMoneyJim on January 25, 2018, 06:27:19 pm »
After 8 or 9 years I've updated the forum software, and after 6-ish years I've moved to a different, updated server. Back out of my home and served from the cloud.

New registrations are still disabled, but if you had an account in the past and can't log in, the email password reset should work now. (It certainly hasn't worked for 18-ish months and was spotty if it worked at all before that.) If the email has changed, there are few enough of you, and you all can find me on various other social media if you want something changed.

Should I do a keyword search for "Yahoo!"?

The Public Board / Privacy Policy

The first rule of privacy policy is: You do not talk about privacy policy.

The second rule of privacy policy is: You do not talk about privacy policy.

As with most every website everywhere, log files are kept including IP address, browser and OS info by your user agent string, the time of the visit and the pages visited.

Cookies are used to identify logged-in users and are kept by your browser if you check the box to remain logged in.

Naturally, any post submitted is stored in the database with its poster's forum identity.

This site is not currently using any 3rd-party tracking or analytics.

This site is non-commercial in nature, and I'm only healf-heartedly adapting a privacy policy to put here. I mostly use the info gathered here to compare to my other sites for better understanding of the data and a small thrill whenever another site of mine gets more hits than this 7-person 6-person 5-person forum site.

This site is a closed-registration forum, and none of its members reside in the EU, so I'm not going to try too hard to figure out how a forum would comply with GDPR.
